The Archibald Library subscribes to a wide range of electronic databases containing newspapers, magazines, journals, and books. Academic OneFile Select  

Academic OneFile Select is a multi-disciplinary database of journal articles, with over 2,000 journals not represented in other library databases.

Academic Search Complete 

Academic Search Complete is the world's most comprehensive scholarly, multi-disciplinary full-text database. It contains a wide range of journal articles and other literature across virtually all academic disciplines.

ACLS Humanities E-Book 

This electronic resource includes about 4,500 full-text, cross-searchable books in the humanities selected by scholars for their continuing importance for research and teaching, with a particular focus on history titles.

E-books on EbscoHost  

This collection contains over 150,000 full-length e-books in virtually every academic discipline, with significant representation in biblical studies. The database allows for searching within the text of the books as well as title and subject searching.

Explore History ( accessible to Saskatchewan residents only )

Gateway to a world-class collection of primary sources including maps, photos, newspapers, manuscripts, pamphlets, portraits and more. Relevant databases include Archives of Sexuality and Gender, Indigenous Peoples of North America, and Nineteenth Century Collections Online.

JSTOR ( Archival Journal & Primary Source Collection )

JSTOR provides access to back issues of important journals in the arts and sciences. The library currently has access to JSTORs full archival journal and primary source collection. Subject areas covered include: humanities, social sciences, business, music, natural sciences, psychology, and language.

Literature Resource Center 

The Literature Resource Center is a one stop database for material about authors and their works. Included are biographies of authors, overviews of their writing, and critical essays and articles about literature.

Recommended Internet Sources

Academic Info ( Resource Directory )

A directory of useful links and resources sorted by specific subject areas. Most links include both printed reference works and electronic resources.

Digital Book Index 

Links to thousands of full-text digital books from commercial and non-commercial publishers, universities, and various private sites. Most of these books, texts, and documents are free.

Directory of Open Access Journals 

Full text, quality controlled scientific and scholarly journals, covering all subjects and many languages.

Google Books 

Access part or all of hundreds of thousands of books from university library collections. Google books can also be a great way to search inside books held in the Archibald Library's print collection.

Google Scholar 

Access scholarly literature in various forms including journal articles and conference papers. Also track citations of specific works.

Hathi Trust Digital Library 

Digitized book and journal content including both in copyright and public domain materials digitized by Google, the Internet Archive, and Microsoft, as well as various public libraries.

Open Library 

An open, editable library catalog, building towards a web page for every book ever published.
